Konecranes is seeking an organised and customer-focused Service Planner to be based in either Hobart or Devonport, TAS. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and executing service activities through a team of technicians while ensuring efficient scheduling, parts availability, customer communication, and operational support.
This is a fast-paced position suited to someone who thrives on planning, problem-solving, and building strong customer relationships while maintaining high safety and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule service requests across the technician team, monitoring progress to ensure jobs are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
- Plan and execute scheduled service orders and notifications, including customer contact, reminders, bookings, and follow-up activities.
- Liaise with customers regarding access equipment requirements (EWP/Scissor Lift hire) and arrange equipment as needed.
- Create purchase orders for spare parts, EWPs, and other required goods and services.
- Monitor spare parts orders and delivery dates to support efficient service execution.
- Track workshop equipment repairs and coordinate collection and delivery with customers.
- Support preparation and management of parts for service jobs, including stock returns and inventory accuracy.
- Monitor labour hours, technician productivity, and job profitability against budget targets.
- Ensure all service activities and job records are accurately entered and maintained within company systems.
- Maintain and update customer asset information within Konecranes operating systems.
- Coordinate technician travel arrangements, including accommodation and flights where required.
- Support customer KPI reporting and rolling three-month forecasting for planned work and invoicing.
- Assist with customer site induction records to ensure compliance requirements remain current.
- Participate in branch service meetings, toolbox talks, and HSE committee activities to promote continuous improvement and safe work practices.
- Provide general administrative support to the branch as required.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Service Planning/Scheduling role or equivalent.
- High degree of organisational ability.
- Demonstrated experience working with various computer systems and programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to plan work effectively and work well under pressure.
- Work well both independently and in a team.
- Ability to effectively and productively engage with key stakeholders at all levels throughout the organisation.
- Superior oral and written communication skills.
