Port Services at Konecranes focuses on the service, maintenance and repair of lifting equipment and automation solutions within ports, harbours and terminals - equipment includes, cranes straddle carriers, container handling equipment and lift trucks to name but a few.
We are recruiting a Port Service Engineer to carry out the maintenance and repair of this equipment.
All of our customer are located in coastal areas, so being willing to travel is a key requirement for this role as well as being electrically-qualified. We are looking for candidates who are ideally based in the north of the UK, preferably in the northeast - Newcastle, Gateshead, Middlesbrough or the Humber area.
This role can also offer the opportunity to work overseas, but this is not a mandatory requirement.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Electrical installation, commissioning, inspection, and testing including service and repair of Port Solution products, such as harbour cranes and straddle carriers
- Trouble- shooting equipment malfunctions, primarily in Electrical equipment, Drive technologies and PLC’s in an industrial environment.
- Consulting with customers on repair and safety related issues
- Accurate and descriptive problem reporting
- Completion of inspection and examination documentation as appropriate
What we are looking for in you:
- Electrically skilled with a basic understanding of mechanics and ideally hydraulics
- Proven track record performing electrical commissioning and repairs to machinery, PLC’s and drives
- Experience of Siemens S7 essential. Use of FBD preferred.
- Good attention to detail.
- Be organised and self-motivated person.
- Computer proficient including basic networking and component diagnostics.
- Familiar with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) and LOLER
- UK driver’s licence
- Ability to work at height
- Able to spend periods of time away from home
