Port Solutions is one of Konecranes’ main business areas, and it designs, manufactures, sells, delivers and services a wide variety of container handling cranes, shipyard cranes and lift trucks. A critical part of Port Solutions is Port Services, whose technical support team provides global support to internal frontline units and customers for complex retrofits and modernizations requiring technical expertise. Our range of port services starts with equipment maintenance and increases alongside any terminal's evolution, where we are continuously expanding the boundaries of our customer's operational efficiency.
Global Port Parts, Product Management department, is part of Port Service Business Unit. Our focus is to provide technical support, maintain item data and provide solutions for our customers parts needs. We are working closely with Parts Sales teams to support Straddle Carrier customers globally.
We are looking for Product Manager to join our Global Port Parts organization with a technical background of Straddle Carriers.
Your key responsibilities:
- Providing technical support to our customers and internal stakeholders; answering daily questions that come from sales team regarding parts identification, item data, custom codes, etc.
- Maintaining spare part product portfolio; adding new spare part items from crane structures and 3rd party assemblies.
- Handling spare part master data; updating data with correct categorization, sales texts, inventory recommendations.
- Managing item replacements; finding solutions for end-of-life materials together with engineering team.
- New parts product development: new spare part kit’s like set of items, parts package for maintenance tasks, upgrade kits.
What should you bring?
For this role we are looking for a motivated team player who has good technical know-how, problem-solving skills and enjoys co-operating with different stakeholders. You have a positive service attitude and willingness to develop and learn through your own work. You can work independently as most part of the work can be done remotely.
Key competencies:
- BSc / MSc in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering field, with several years of relevant working experience, including 2–3 years in spare parts or related topics
- Strong technical background, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings/designs
- Experience with Straddle Carriers or similar port equipment
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (essential), along with good knowledge of tools such as Power BI, Teamcenter, SAP, and Salesforce
- Solution-oriented mindset, with a proactive and practical approach to problem-solving
- Confident in working with different stakeholders and communicating in a clear, collaborative way
- Fluent in English; German is considered a strong advantage
