Job Description

As a result of strong demand for our services, we are now seeking to appoint a Field Supervisor to look after our Nyrstar Port Pirie site, based in Port Pirie or Adelaide.

Reporting directly to the Service Manager, you will work closely with our technicians to provide outstanding support and service to our customers.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Supervise field operatives including customer consultation, spot audits, quality control and safety.
  • Be able to carry out basic Inspection services to various makes and models of standard cranes.
  • Work on minor repair, field modernisations and smaller installation jobs on standard equipment.
  • Be able to identify and source basic parts for sales to quotes repairs.
  • Be able to offer basic repair and field modernisation solutions to customers.
  • Be able to attend emergency breakdowns, identify and repair faults on standard cranes.
  • Ensure all parts and materials are available and correct before repair works are undertaken.
  • Liaise with Nyrstar staff on site to ensure cranes are kept complaint and to schedule. As well as organising any access equipment or support needed by Nyrstar.
  • Complete work in other regional locations such as Port Augusta, Whyalla and possibly Olympic Dam to name a few.
  • Assist the Service Manager in determining labour estimates, special tools, requirements or hazards on larger jobs.
  • Work with our Project Management team from time to time.
  • Guide Account Managers with estimated hours of labour and costs for repairs.
  • Perform Safety Review and Visit Reviews and ensure that next steps are documented.

Qualifications

  • Trade qualified. Licensed electrician preferred but mechanical with Overhead crane or similar Industrial Equipment experience considered
  • Methodical in approach
  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to educate customers
  • Safety conscious
  • A team player
  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to travel to customer sites on a regular basis

  • A generous base hourly rate, dependant of experience
  • Paid travel time
  • Fully maintained company vehicle
  • Double time Overtime rates after the first 2 hours of time and one half (Monday - Saturday)
