We are recruiting a District Technical Specialist to maintain WtE sites, in the Greater Manchester area.
As the District Technical Specialist, you will be providing dedicated support to the maintenance and service of our customer’s cranes and lifting equipment. You’ll work with a team of customer engineers and staff to ensure that all equipment is at 100% availability according to the needs of their business. In addition, you’ll supervise site operatives as well as sub-contractors and you’ll be involved in the customer consultation process, spot audits, quality control and safety, providing technical support and direction.
Due to the nature of this role, previous work experience in this environment is absolutely essential.
You will report to the Konecranes Operations Manager, Warrington Branch
Your main responsibilities will include:
· You’ll supervise all Konecranes activities performed at customer sites as and when required.
· You’ll be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on electric overhead travelling cranes, hoists and various lifting equipment.
· You will perform safety inspections alongside insurance inspectors.
· You’ll troubleshooting equipment malfunctions.
· You’ll raise defects and sourcing parts through Konecranes.
· You’ll consult with customers on repair and safety related issues.
· Identify onsite sales lead and equipment improvement opportunities.
· You will complete appropriate maintenance records, reports, and documentation.
· Organisation of Site planned shutdowns – liaising with the customer to maximise planned downtime and optimise uptime.
· Be in regular communication with the Branch scheduler and Tech Co-Ordinator to ensure that the allocated contracted hours are in-line with the maintenance agreement, thus maximising the margins.
What we are looking for in you:
· You must be apprentice-trained or equivalent, have HNC/HND Electrical engineering certificates and fully conversant with electrical engineering disciplines, as well as good mechanical knowledge.
· Qualified within Industrial Automation
· Possess a LEEA qualification or similar
· Experience of servicing and maintaining WtE cranes
· Experience of, and proficient in PLC & HMI Expertise: Siemens S7-300, 400 PLCs, WinCC Flexible, and TIA Portal, would be highly beneficial
· Willingness to work rostered day shift [pattern)
· Good grasp of the English language (verbal and written)
· Strong interpersonal skills as there is extensive customer contact
· Proven commitment to safety
