Joanne Shanks | Administration Manager

What’s your story before joining Konecranes?
“I joined Konecranes as a school leaver as an Office Junior. After having a family, I returned as a Technical Administrator for the Project Department and I loved it because the role was so varied and interesting from order handling, planning, administration to forecasting”.

How do you feel about your journey with Konecranes?
“Over the years I have been involved in a variety of system development projects and roll-outs, but my career path changed when I was asked to take part in a project secondment that was meant to last 6 months. Now 12 years on I’m in a management role which has allowed me to travel not only throughout the UK but also Europe building up a vast network of colleagues in Konecranes. More recently, I’ve been given the opportunity to set up a UK Process forum which is a team of employees from different areas of the business all coming together looking at making business improvements. These improvements will help enhance our company values to ensure we are putting our customers first.”

What insight would you give to female applicants considering joining Konecranes?
“Who knows where the role you’re applying for will take you. Anything is possible. If you are determined and hardworking, Konecranes will support you 100%. We have a lot of long serving employees at Konecranes, which speaks volumes about the company our great support network.”
