“Thinking about my journey, my mantra is not to be afraid, apply yourself, be brave, believe in yourself and step out of your comfort zone.”

Lorna Ganley | Director, Office Operations

What’s your career story before joining Konecranes?
Whilst I was at school, I realised that I preferred a practical approach to learning, rather than being in a classroom.  Leaving school I went to college to study Business Administration, after which I joined Konecranes in 1998 on YTS Scheme as an Administration Assistant, while continuing to learn while you earn was the ideal career move for me.

How do you feel about your journey with Konecranes?

From starting out as an Admin Assistant, I’ve continued to take on roles with additional responsibility, including, Branch Assistant, Branch Administrator, District Administrator, Project Manager (SAP/Master Data), Project Controller (Secondment, Administration Manager (South), UK Planning Manager, EMEA Planning Manager, and more recently I’ve become the Director, Office Operations, ISE EMEA Operational Excellence.

What insight would you give to female applicants considering joining Konecranes?
Konecranes have invested in me over the years, through educational support and a leadership programme – if you put the effort, they will invest in you too. Thinking about my journey, my mantra is not to be afraid, apply yourself, be brave, believe in yourself and step out of your comfort zone.
