The Director Supply, BU Quay is responsible for leading the global supply organization of Business Unit Quay with a strong focus on developing and managing manufacturing partners for steel structure fabrication and scalable supply execution concepts.
The role is critical in enabling BU Quay’s geographical expansion and project execution capabilities by building and managing a competitive and compliant global steel structure manufacturing and port crane assembly setup. It combines strategic leadership with operational accountability, ensuring alignment with business objectives and cross-BU collaboration as well as on hands management of worldwide partner network.
BU Quay includes two products: Ship to Shore (STS) and Mobile Harbor Cranes (MHC). The focus in this role is to build solid manufacturing partner networks in Asia for the STS cranes while MHC cranes are factory made. In addition to STS cranes, other Port and Shipyard crane products (RMG, GGC, ASC, RTG) would be manufactured by the same manufacturing partner supply network as required.
Your key responsibilities:
- Lead the global Supply organization of BU Quay with full accountability for performance, structure, and development
- Define and execute the global partner manufacturing strategy, ensuring scalable, competitive, and high-quality supply execution
- Build, develop, and manage a global manufacturing partner network, ensuring capability, capacity, and geographical coverage
- Lead and develop regional Heads of manufacturing partnering located in EMEA, AME, NEA and SEA
- Drive operational excellence across manufacturing partnering ensuring performance in cost, quality, delivery, and safety
- Ensure strong alignment and close collaboration with BU Horizontal & Yard, leveraging synergies and harmonizing ways of working
- Establish and enforce robust governance with a strong focus on ethics and compliance across all supply activities
- Ensure compliance with contractual, legal, regulatory, and internal policies
- Own strategic manufacturing partner relationships, including contracting frameworks, negotiations, and performance management
- Develop and implement KPIs and reporting structures to steer global supply performance
- Drive continuous improvement and transformation of the BU Quay supply setup
- Ensure strong cross-functional collaboration with Project Management, Engineering, Logistics, and Sales
What we expect from you:
- Extensive leadership experience in heavy steel structure manufacturing and assembly supply or operations
- Proven track record in leading global teams and building supply networks preferably in Asian region
- Strong experience in contract management and supplier performance management
- Strong business acumen and cost management experience
- Strategic mindset with strong execution capability
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Degree in engineering, supply chain, or related field
- Fluent English
- Willingness to travel internationally and manage different geographic locations. The position requires +50 days / year international business travel.
