Job Description

Join the Konecranes Port Services team, a global one-stop service partner fueled by extensive equipment expertise. Our comprehensive services begin with equipment maintenance and expand alongside the evolution of our customers' terminals. Remote services are a strategic focus area for growth, and a pivotal component of this initiative is our Automation Service Level (SLA) business. Under our Service Level Agreement contracts, customers benefit from defined operational KPIs with guaranteed response and resolution times. Our automation solutions, ranging from operator-assisting features to fully autonomous equipment, aim to enhance crane safety, intelligence, and efficiency. We leverage cutting-edge technology, including the latest sensors, positioning systems, lidars, and camera technologies, to develop best-in-class solutions for our customers.

We are currently seeking an Automation Engineer (SLA) to join our team and contribute to the maintenance of this critical aspect of our automation applications. In this role, you will actively engage in solving customer automation issues, implementing improvements, and participating in development of the customer relationships. Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • You will start Port Services career by supporting Konecranes Gottwald AGV’s
  • Analyzing log files (AGV & BMS logs) for troubleshooting purposes aiming to find out the possible root causes for the customer issues
  • Solid MS Excel skills to recognize error patterns and trends over the time
  • Basic IT skills to use VPN tools to connect remotely for machines
  • Problem validation together with customers and AHT engineering department
  • Direct customer communication about incident priorities and resolution plans

Qualifications

What we expect from you:

We are looking for an individual with experience and knowledge in PLC’s and automation systems. If your passion lies in problem-solving, and you are willing to engage directly with customers, we want to hear from you.

To succeed in this position, you should have:

  • A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree or a state-certified technician in a relevant field or practical knowledge gained from work experience
  • Prior PLC experience and basic understanding of automation systems
  • Basic understanding on Drives and Inverter technologies, especially ABB CoDeSys
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and cultures.
  • Good communication skills and comfortable with English language
  • Systematic problem-solving skills.
  • A positive attitude toward learning and development.
  • Willingness to communicate directly with customers
  • Can do attitude, structured and independent way of working
