Nicola's dynamic career path

Meet Nicola, who joined Konecranes in as a  in 2009. The role was conveniently located near her home and offered a flexible part-time schedule, aligning perfectly with her personal life commitments. Over the years, Nicola has embraced various roles, including Administrator, Admin Supervisor, Service Planner, Lead Planner, and now Service Manager. Each position has been a stepping stone, allowing her to develop new skills and grow within the organization.

Navigating change: Embracing technological advancements

With 17 years at Konecranes, Nicola has witnessed the company's evolution firsthand. A pivotal change was the transition from Wennsoft/Paperwork to the paperless Siebel system. This technological advancement is part of Konecranes' commitment to enhancing material handling systems and embracing industrial digitalization. Nicola has also seen the introduction of new products and continuous improvements, all contributing to the company's growth and success.

Pioneering roles: Streamlining processes and fostering teamwork

One of Nicola's memorable achievements was her role as the first Lead Planner in the Southeast Branch. This position helped streamline processes, ensuring smooth workflow and improving communication between planners and the Service Manager. By shaping the role as they went along, Nicola and her team fostered a more consistent approach, bringing the planning team closer together. The Southeast Team's win of the People Award in 2023 is a testament to the collaborative spirit and dedication of the team Nicola worked with.

Empowering growth: Training and development opportunities

Nicola's journey at Konecranes has been enriched by training and development programs. In 2011, she participated in the High Potential Individual Program, which included training in Sydney and a visit to Konecranes' facility in China. This program provided Nicola with a deeper understanding of the business and the opportunity to operate one of the RTG cranes. More recently, Nicola attended Service Manager training in Sydney, gaining valuable insights and skills to enhance her effectiveness as a manager.
