Konecranes and Demag are seeking an experienced Electrical Crane Technician to join our Newcastle team. If you are comfortable working at heights and enjoy solving complex technical problems, this is an opportunity to step into a dynamic, hands-on role where your expertise truly matters.
This is more than routine maintenance. While you will perform scheduled servicing and inspections on overhead cranes, you will also tackle challenging breakdowns where your troubleshooting skills and technical capability will be put to the test. No two days are the same.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
Conducting thorough inspections, servicing and maintenance of overhead cranes and lifting equipment
Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults and breakdowns
Performing field modernisations, upgrades and installations
Attending emergency breakdown callouts as required
Identifying and sourcing parts efficiently
Conducting accurate risk assessments before every task
Communicating clearly and professionally with customers about findings and repair solutions
Completing documentation and reports accurately and on time
You will work independently while remaining closely connected to a skilled and supportive team.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A current Electrical Licence
Current Driver’s Licence
Working at Heights competency
Elevated Work Platform (EWP) ticket (desired)
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
A safety-first mindset and methodical approach to work
Confidence in speaking with customers and representing the company professionally
Solid understanding of relevant Australian Standards
A team-oriented attitude with strong attention to detail
