The Role
Responsible for providing expert field engineering support, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, modernization and inspection of overhead cranes and lifting equipment with specialization in crane electrical systems, PLCs, Smart Relays and industrial automation.
- Carry out site engineering inspections, troubleshooting, commissioning and assessments on overhead cranes in accordance with company standards and guidelines.
- Program, modify and troubleshoot PLC systems including Siemens, Schneider, Mitsubishi, Allen-Bradley, Omron or equivalent platforms.
- Configure and troubleshoot Smart Relays including Siemens LOGO!, Schneider Zelio and equivalent systems.
- Diagnose and rectify faults involving crane electrical systems, VFDs, motors, encoders, sensors, limit switches, load cells and safety circuits.
- Prepare engineering reports that include technical findings, root cause analysis, recommendations and planning schedules.
- Lead crane modernization, control upgrades, PLC migration and electrical retrofit projects.
- Assess and certify cranes and related equipment as required under inspection and consultation services.
- Develop and maintain business relationships with customers through regular visits and technical consultation.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and communicate with principals and manufacturers to identify effective solutions.
- Conduct product knowledge and technical training for customers and internal personnel.
- Monitor service quality, resource utilization and profitability targets.
- Ensure compliance with EHS requirements and proper use of tools and PPE.
- Awareness of ISO 14001 & 45001 standard
The Candidate
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in crane electrical systems and industrial automation.
- Expert knowledge of crane electrical systems, control circuits and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Extensive PLC programming, commissioning and diagnostics experience.
- Strong experience with Smart Relay programming and applications.
- Experience with VFDs, motor controls, sensors, encoders, radio controls and safety circuits.
- Experience with computer programs such as MS Office and AutoCAD.
- Professional communication skills, both oral and written.
- Current and valid driving license.
- Ability to work comfortably at heights.
- High attention to detail complemented by effective time management skills.
