Job Description

As an Engineering Manager - SW & Technology, you will have the overall accountability to elevate our engineering organization by advancing technical excellence, driving innovation, and building a scalable, high-performing technology foundation. Acting as line manager, you’ll ensure that our teams have the right resources, capabilities, tools, and technologies to deliver business value sustainably and efficiently.

Your key responsibilities:

Engineering Leadership: You will provide strategic direction on engineering practices and standards across all teams while leading Software Engineers through hiring, development, and fostering technical excellence with clear career progression frameworks.

Technology Strategy & Innovation: Define the organization's technology vision and roadmap aligned with business objectives, lead adoption of new technologies and architectural patterns, and champion innovative proof-of-concepts that advance our capabilities.

Architecture & Platform Evolution: Collaborate towards ensuring architectural consistency and scalability while collaborating with platform teams on infrastructure, security, and performance standards that adhere to industry best practices.

Capability Building & Cross-Team Enablement: Design upskilling and mentoring programs for engineers, lead engineering guilds focused on excellence and capability development, and foster exceptional developer experience through modern tooling while championing reusable technology across the organization.

Collaboration & Business Impact: Serve as senior technical advisor to Product Owners and Director of Digital Development, ensuring engineering priorities reflect business needs through cross-functional collaboration, quarterly planning participation, and establishing performance KPIs.

Strategic Oversight: Manage supplier relationships and compliance optimization while maintaining a long-term technology vision that extends beyond quarterly planning, proactively communicating with stakeholders and adapting to regulatory changes and emerging technologies.

  • Engineers are productive, motivated, upskilled properly to meet business needs, and aligned with best practices.
  • Architectural decisions lead to long-term maintainability and delivery agility.
  • The tech stack evolves to meet future needs without creating complexity.
  • Innovation is purposeful, measurable, and supports the business strategy.
  • Maintained high code quality and reduced technical debt.
  • Accelerated adoption of modern tools (low-code, SaaS, cloud).
  • Built a culture of innovation with reusable components and PoCs.

Qualifications

What should you bring?

  • MSc or BSc in business or engineering, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years leading cross-functional feature teams of 10–20+ engineers (retention, promotions, performance, upskilling, coaching).
  • Previous hands-on expertise in software development using modern technology stacks (Web/mobile), cloud-native (AWS/Azure/GCP) deployments, CI/CD DevSecOps tooling.
  • Good understanding of microservices and event-driven architecture and complete SDLC processes.
  • Mastery of Scrum/Kanban, metrics (DORA), and tooling (Jira, GitHub, etc.).
  • Good understanding of low-code platforms, AI, its implications on SW engineering process, and how to leverage AI for boosting productivity and efficiency.
  • Good knowledge of project management and road mapping.
  • Knowledge of information and security management.
  • Architectural understanding.
  • Knowledge of IT service operations and processes including ITIL.
  • Vendor management.
  • New technologies and methodologies.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
