Category Manager (m/f/x) - Hydraulic and Electrical Powertrain

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies in collaboration with stakeholders to improve cost-competitiveness and create value for the company
• Lead sourcing processes, including vendor scouting, tendering, and contract negotiations, ensuring alignment with company goals
• Facilitate cooperation among category teams, including supplier managers and stakeholders, to establish and act on common objectives
• Identify new business opportunities within the assigned categories and drive initiatives to capture them
• Ensure compliance and optimize the supplier base by allocating spend to capable and cost-competitive vendors
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and partners to ensure sustainable collaboration
• Act as a subject matter expert on market trends, suppliers, industries, commodities, and competitors within your categories
• Identify and implement process enhancements in sourcing and procurement, including tools, workflows, and ways of working
• Prepare and lead business meetings while effectively communicating the status and strategy of category activities internally
• Contribute to the development and execution of company-wide initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Other responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor as needed
   

Requirements and Competence

To succeed in this role, you need to be a highly motivated self-starter with strong analytical and strategic thinking skills. You bring at least 5 years of experience in a similar position, ideally with a background in sourcing, supplier management, or sales. A university degree in Economics, Engineering, or a related field equips you with the foundational knowledge to excel in this role.

You have excellent negotiation and communication skills, combined with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and organizational levels. Confidence in data analysis and evaluation is key, as you’ll need to process and interpret complex datasets to support decision-making.

Fluency in English is essential, and additional language skills are a plus. You’re comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities, and maintaining focus under pressure. With your ability to travel and your proactive mindset, you’ll thrive in this dynamic and impactful role.
