Life at Konecranes A journey of growth and connection

CAREER STORY

Meet Brad Trimmer

A path of progression

Brad’s career at Konecranes began in 2012 with a project that aimed to insource Konecranes’ IT Helpdesk. This marked the start of what would become an enriching journey of professional development and personal growth.

“This has been the first IT job I’ve ever had. I’ve learned so much through the experiences I’ve had at Konecranes,” Brad tells.

Currently, Brad holds the position of IT Network Manager for Konecranes’ Americas regions. This task entails overseeing the network’s infrastructure’s functionality in the entire region, ensuring seamless IT operations, and leading a skilled team to troubleshoot and solve network-related challenges.

Brad’s transition from an IT Helpdesk Technician to becoming a Network Manager illustrates a major evolution in his career path. Over time, he has honed his skills and climbed through the ranks, reflecting the dynamic nature of Konecranes’ career opportunities.

Joys of the job

The essence of Brad’s role at Konecranes brings him joy through complex problem-solving and collaboration with individuals around the world. Engaging in both technical and personal development, Brad finds the work culture at our company to be an essential part of his daily experiences.

“Everyone always supports you no matter what. We’re always there for each other, which makes our Konecranes network run so smoothly.”

Since starting at Konecranes, Brad has acquired many skills, ranging from customer service to managing complex network systems. This broad skill set has allowed him to be a Network Manager, positively impacting his career trajectory.

Family and fun

In addition to being an asset to our company in all things IT, Brad shares a light-hearted fact about himself; he has a family with children ranging from toddlers to teenagers. He adores spending time with his family, which gives him something important to think about outside of work.

“Our company believes that family is important. If I want to spend more time with my family members, it has never been an issue.”

Rooted in his experiences of being a parent, Brad’s appreciation of Konecranes comes from its commitment to a healthy work-life balance, status as a global leader, as well as a genuine sense of community that is reflected across all regions.

“I also try not to take work home with me. I think it’s important to maintain a good balance between the two.”

Supported growth and development

In his own words, Konecranes has played a pivotal role in Brad’s professional journey. Through mentorship, training programs, and constructive feedback, our company has fostered his continuous development in an encouraging manner.

In addition to our company’s professional development opportunities, Brad appreciates Konecranes’ work culture. His use of the words “environment, engagement, and inclusion” describes a workplace where diversity is celebrated, and every individual’s voice is valued.

“I honestly love Konecranes. People get along very well, and we work effectively together. Everyone is all in.”
