Meet Rainer Leminen
Evolving expertise
Rainer’s story at Konecranes is one of constant learning and adaptation. Joining the company in 2014 as an SAP Configuration Owner, his role expanded to Solution Architect in 2021, and later shifted into his position today as an IT Architect. This impressive progression highlights Rainer’s personal growth as well as the dynamic work environment provided by Konecranes.
“In my current position, I have learned more about Konecranes’ technological systems as well as interacted with our global stakeholders,” Rainer elaborates.
A culture of right priorities and diversity
What makes Konecranes stand out from its competitors, according to Rainer, is our company’s compelling combination of working on the right things with the right priority. He values our sociable atmosphere, emphasizing that even when challenges arise, employees never lose their sense of humor.
“It’s always important to maintain a positive spirit in all our projects, regardless of if we face challenges.”
Rainer cherishes the diverse and international setting ingrained within Konecranes. It provides a fantastic opportunity for employees to engage with different cultures and hone their language skills. This is especially valuable for Rainer, who speaks four languages fluently – including English, Finnish, German, and Swedish.
According to Rainer, he thrives on keeping his German skills sharp by engaging with his German-speaking colleagues. His general love for languages extends to the cultural diversity he experiences in his daily life at Konecranes.
“Since both our company and my role in it are global, I’ve been able to utilize my language skills. People really appreciate it when I approach them with their local language.”
Empowering professional development
Since his tenure began at Konecranes, Rainer has acquired a wealth of knowledge. His enhanced SAP expertise, agile development skills, manufacturing insights, and Lean Six Sigma methodology have all contributed to his strong professional development.
Moreover, Konecranes has consistently backed Rainer’s growth as an expert in his field. With access to various training and academic collaboration opportunities, Rainer has completed his master's degree and explored work-related research. Konecranes’ flexibility in offering versatile growth paths has been essential for his career advancement.
“My supervisors at Konecranes have been excellent. They have shown me our company values, trusted me, shown me support, and given me freedom to make important decisions.”
Three pillars of Konecranes’ culture
When asked to summarize Konecranes’ work culture, Rainer doesn’t hesitate to utilize the words “freedom, trust, and support”. He believes that Konecranes embraces individuality, instills trust in its employees, and fosters a collective support system – all of which resonate with Rainer’s values.
“The general atmosphere of our company makes us unique. People here are trusted, which can be seen in our overall progress.”
Embarking on a career at Konecranes means stepping into a story of growth, cultural richness, and sustainable advancement. As proven by Rainer’s journey, it’s a place where professional paths are shaped in a positive manner and individuality is respected.
