The Port Cranes business unit is a major global player in designing, manufacturing, and servicing container handling equipment. We lead the way in technology by building quality, delivering excellence, and commissioning professionalism and service. We have deep knowledge of shipbuilding processes that extends back over 50 years. We design and deliver shipyard cranes that meet the shipbuilding industry's specific needs. Konecranes is a respected supplier in the shipbuilding community.
We are now looking for site operations professional, to lead and coordinate the subcontracted yard site operations of BU Port Cranes. This is an additional role in the team to support the future growth and development initiatives. Site Operation function provides all the necessary installation, erection and supervisory services to BU Port Cranes and BU Solutions for their global equipment deliveries.
You will work closely with external partners, such as erection and installation subcontractors, manpower and supervisory suppliers, as well with internal stakeholders such as other supply functions, project management, logistics, HSE and quality functions.
You will report to Director, Subcontracting and Site Operations, Port Cranes.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing and coordinating selected global Yard customer site operations.
- Preparing and negotiating site erection PO:s and contracts
- Planning new yard site installation concepts
- Developing site operations to “factory type of operations”; improving productivity, material management, production planning and KPI:s in close cooperation with other supply operations functions
- Ensuring safe site operations and solving potential safety risks with HSE specialists
What we expect from you?
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- Strong mindset for safety
- Structured way of handling operations and ability to pick most essential issues and good problem-solving skills.
- A solid background in the operations either at the factory operations or at the site operations for crane installations.
- Understanding of crane installations and erections processes
- Good communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills.
- Demonstrated project management skills and target orientation to get results.
- Fluent English, other language skills are a plus.
- Willingness and ability to travel, position requires +30 days / year international business travel.
