Job Description

We are looking for an experienced R&D Project Manager, Sustainability to strengthen our competence in sustainability related research- and development project management and execution. As a R&D Project Manager, Sustainability, you will play a crucial role in success of our sustainability related research and development projects with internal and external stakeholders and partners.  You will also anticipate which direction the trends are heading in the future, so we can stay ahead. You will be part of the international Technology Sustainability team within Research & Development department.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Manage internal and external research and development projects related to product sustainability
  • Participate in and lead global projects with global teams and delivering results
  • Support other projects within your field of expertise, offering expert input
  • Plan, prepare and execute projects ensuring milestones and objectives are met. 
  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders as well as external university and business partners. 
  • Follow the progress of research projects and the achievement of set objectives and deliverables. 

Qualifications

What should you bring?

  • Master’s degree in e.g. environmental engineering / management or related field
  • Knowledge of product sustainability, Life Cycle Assessments, and the principles of circular economy
  • Proven experience in successfully managing projects within a business environment
  • A Flexible and collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively across organizational borders
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills in English, other languages seen as an asset.  
  • Strong negotiation and facilitation skills.  
  • We are seeking a motivated individual who takes initiative and consistently drives projects forward with a proactive approach.  
  • You will succeed in this position if you have good problem-solving, teamworking and team building attitude and skills. You are self-motivated organised individual who takes initiative and consistently drives projects forward with a proactive approach.  
  • Experience of working in a network of internal and external stakeholders and being able to work in matrix organization.

Work location: The team is based in Hyvinkää, Finland, and we expect you to visit the office from time to time, depending on work needs, approx. 1 day per week. It goes without saying that a hybrid work type is part of our modern ways of working. This role requires some traveling (few days per quarter) within Finland and EU.
