Product Line Rope Hoist Cranes, Components & Ex-Proof is part of Business Unit Standard Equipment for Industrial Equipment. The product line is responsible for a leading range of industrial cranes and hoists covering a full range of industrial applications.
The core role of the product line is to provide ownership and lifecycle management for the Rope Hoist (RH) portfolio. Main activities include; definition of product strategy and its execution, delivery of new products to market, ongoing product maintenance and 2nd level offer & order engineering.
Liaison with our sales channels and key stakeholders is also fundamental to ensuring customer centricity is forefront in our portfolio management. Our goal is to provide a competitive offering of sustainable lifting solutions which improve the safety, productivity and sustainability of our customer operations.
We are now looking for a Product Manager to be responsible for driving our future smart & digital technology integration into our WRH product portfolio – specifically rope hoists and cranes.
Key tasks will include but are not limited to: defining our 5-year strategic smart & digital product roadmap for rope hoists and cranes, collaborating with key stakeholders to confirm & plan annual development projects to support the roadmap, accountability for delivering new smart & digital applications to market and overall leadership for technology integration into our RH products now and in the near future.
Your key responsibilities:
- Formulate our future vision and strategy for smart & digital crane applications
- Drive our digital transformation to maintain and reinforce our technology leadership
- Define smart & digital 5 yr. roadmap for RH product portfolio
- Ensure regulatory and global certification requirements are incorporated
- Gather market intelligence to support roadmap definition; market trends, competitor landscape, sales feedback – ensure voice of customer is forefront and centric to our offering
- Prioritise new initiatives & determine annual development projects for budget
- Collaborate with key internal stakeholders such as Research & Innovation and Core Technology to drive smart & digital transformation
- Develop and maintain productive working relationships with all stakeholders
- Drive and lead new smart & digital development projects to defined quality, cost and delivery targets
- Define and prioritise project requirements
- Develop, monitor and control; project scope, timing, cost, quality, resources and risk from project start to completion
- Manage and lead cross-functional project teams
- Risk management and effective mitigation planning
- Project status reporting to key stakeholders
- Develop and monitor key success factors for smart & digital offering
- Provide support to Frontlines in needed sales cases
- Support “best practice” and continuous improvement within Product Management function
What should you bring?:
A strong track record in Product Management with demonstrable experience in not only supporting existing product portfolios but shaping their longer-term future offering.
Experience within smart and digital portfolio management.
The ability to foster a mindset of innovation and adaptability for embracing new technologies.
Prior success in achieving strong support from leadership to ensure the prioritisation and funding for smart or digital applications.
An unwavering focus on customer experience – success in prioritising and developing products that meet customer preferences and create value for their business.
We also expect:
- Prior experience in Industrial Crane equipment or similar
- Education to degree level with a technical/engineering background
- At least 4 years working experience in comparable product management position
- Experience in smart and digital applications
- Familiarity and best practice with product development processes
- Customer centric thinking
- Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen
- Fluent spoken and written English, Finnish preferred but not essential
