Job Description
Konecranes Information Technology organization secures sustainable growth and operational excellence through IT Innovation and data insights. The service portfolio is wide; from IT services provided to enable Konecranes business processes, through Helpdesk, all the way to the business intelligence and analytics identifying new business opportunities.
We are now looking for Platform Owner, Oracle Databases.
In this role, you’ll ensure the reliable, secure, and high‑performance operation of Oracle database systems. Key duties include installing and configuring Oracle databases; designing database structures; and managing backup, recovery, and disaster‑recovery solutions such as RMAN and Data Guard. The role involves continuous performance monitoring and tuning using tools like AWR, ASH, and OEM, as well as enforcing strong security controls through user management, auditing, and patching.
You’ll maintain high availability through technologies like RAC and GoldenGate while performing routine maintenance, capacity planning, and proactive monitoring. You’ll also automate operational tasks using scripting languages and provide support for troubleshooting database issues. Comprehensive documentation of architecture, procedures, and best practices is also a core part of the role.
Your key responsibilities:
- Keep the Oracle databases available and run for business continuity
- Performance tuning and database platform improvements with required development
- Disaster recovery planning, documentation and testing with simulation
- Coordination and Communication with operation team and different application stakeholders
- Adhering and complying to security best practices in database platform under ISO-27001
- Vulnerability management and mitigation planning
- Responsible for architectural and administration area for Oracle database platform
- Supervising database migrations and administrative activities with operation team
- Defining and supervising database backup and recovery planning
- Documentation of Oracle database platform and processes
- Roadmap and Konecranes architecture optimal in terms of Oracle DB
Qualifications
What should you bring?
- Expertise in managing Oracle databases (versions 19c and 23ai)
- Understanding of architecture, configuration, administration and maintenance of Exadata Cloud & Customer platform.
- Experience using Oracle tools and features such as Oracle Enterprise Manager, RMAN, Data Pump, Data Guard, AWR, RAC, multitenancy
- Oracle Cloud (OCI) knowledge, understanding the infrastructure
- Hands-on experience with optimizing Oracle database and SQL performance
- Strong knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL.
- Linux skills including shell scripting
- Dbvisit knowledge is considered a benefit.
- Skills in implementing and managing backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity.
- Understanding of database security practices, including user management and data protection
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with other IT professionals, stakeholders and vendors.
