Job Description

We are currently seeking candidate for the role of IT Platform Owner- Mac(Apple Ecosystems).

Role Purpose -

The IT Platform Owner – Mac is responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of the Mac platform within the organization, with a strong focus on scaling (ramp-up), standardization, and long-term operations. 

The role ensures a secure, compliant, and cost-efficient Apple device ecosystem, aligned with enterprise IT strategy and user experience expectations. 

Key Responsibilities 

1. Mac Platform Strategy & Ramp-Up 

  • Define and execute the Mac platform rollout strategy 

  • Establish standard builds, policies, and lifecycle models for macOS devices 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders (IT, Security, Procurement, Business Units) to drive adoption 

  • Develop roadmaps for platform maturity (e.g., automation, zero-touch deployment) 

  • Collaborate with Cybersecurity team to keep Mac Security Baseline in a level which meets the stakeholder expectations.

2. Supply Chain & Device Lifecycle Management 

  • Manage end-to-end supply chain for Mac devices:  

  • Vendor and partner coordination (e.g., Apple resellers) 

  • Device sourcing, stock planning, and global availability 

  • Define and govern device lifecycle processes:  

  • Procurement, staging, deployment, refresh, retirement, data destruction and recycling 

  • Ensure cost transparency and optimization (TCO, stock levels) 

3. Software Distribution & Application Management 

  • Own software packaging and distribution strategy for macOS keeping as much commonalities and synergies with the Windows platform as possible 

  • Govern application lifecycle:  

  • Packaging, deployment, updates, and decommissioning 

  • Ensure seamless integration with enterprise tools (e.g., identity, collaboration platforms) 

  • Drive automation and self-service capabilities for end users 

4. Endpoint Management & Security  

  • Own and operate endpoint management tools and services 

  • Implement and maintain:  

  • Configuration profiles 

  • Compliance policies 

  • Patch management 

  • Ensure alignment with enterprise security standards, including:  

  • Device hardening 

  • Encryption 

  • Endpoint detection & response integration 

  • Support audit and compliance requirements (e.g., ISO, internal IT policies) 

5. Service Operations & Continuous Improvement 

  • Establish Mac platform as a standard IT service 

  • Define and manage:  

  • SLAs / KPIs (availability, deployment time, compliance rate) 

  • Supported models (service desk, onsite, advanced support) and their lifecycle 

  • Collaborate with operations teams to ensure stable and scalable service delivery 

  • Drive continuous improvement and automation (e.g., zero-touch, scripting, self-healing) 

6. Stakeholder & Vendor Management 

  • Act as single point of ownership for Mac platform across IT 

  • Manage external partners (e.g., JAMF, Apple, service providers) 

  • Align with:  

  • Security teams → compliance & policies 

  • Procurement → contracts & suppliers (relevant to your setup with Atea, etc.) 

  • Workplace / End User Services → user experience 


Qualifications

Qualification- 

Minimum B.Tech/BE

Experience-

Minimum 6-10 Years of experience in relevant field

Technical Expertise 

  • Strong experience with:  

  • macOS platform management in enterprise environments 

  • JAMF (Pro) or equivalent Apple MDM solutions 

  • Microsoft Intune 

  • Mac specific software packaging and deployment tools 

  • Knowledge of:  

  • Identity & device integration (Azure AD / Entra ID, SSO, Conditional Access) 

  • Endpoint security concepts for macOS 

  • Software packaging & deployment mechanisms 

Operational & Management Skills 

  • Experience in platform ownership or service management 

  • Understanding of:  

  • Hardware supply chains & global device lifecycle management 

  • ITIL-based service operations 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

Soft Skills 

  • Ability to drive adoption and influence stakeholders globally 

  • Strong communication skills (business + technical) 

  • Experience working in cross-functional and international environments 

Key Success Metrics (KPIs) 

  • Device compliance and security posture 

  • Deployment lead time (order → productive use) 

  • User satisfaction (end-user experience) 

  • Cost efficiency (device lifecycle and operations) 

Nice-to-Have 

  • Experience with:  

  • Apple Business Manager (ABM) 

  • Automation/scripting (e.g., Bash, Python) 

  • Zero-touch / automated provisioning setups 

  • Previous involvement in Mac transformation or pilot programs
