Job Description

Position description -

We are seeking a highly experienced person as “Manufacturing Head “to oversee manufacturing operations at our manufacturing unit based in Jejuri, Pune. This role involves handling of complete manufacturing operations with core processes of welding, fabrication, painting and assembly of cranes and components.

Your key responsibilities -

  • Safety Practices:
  • Ensuring safety across the shopfloor and actively participate in safety committee.
  • Maintain audit system for shop floor and machine safety. Take necessary actions to address safety non compliances.
  • Actively participate in worker welfare and development programs.
  • 5 –S Implementation
  • Continuous Improvement Activities
  • HSE management as per Konecranes Global standard.
  • Create awareness in team for HSE & motivate people to follow HSE guidelines
  • Provide maximum visibility for HSE requirements
  • Awareness of ISO 14001 and 45001 standards
  • Autonomous Maintenance:
  • Maintaining schedule of Autonomous maintenance. Liaison with maintenance function.
  • Identifying areas of obstruction / breakdowns and taking steps to rectify the equipment through application of troubleshooting tools. Handling breakdown maintenance of CNC Messer Plasma Cutting, Radial drilling machine, Shot blasting machine, ESAB Automation-SAW Welding, Boxing Machines, Welding machines etc.
  • Legal compliance:
  • Ensure compliances on welfare, work hours and safety as per factories act.
  • Manufacturing:
  • Planning manufacturing activities as per production plan release from planning to meet company’s sales targets.
  • Analyse bottleneck operations and streamline processes.
  • Undertake productivity improvement projects for manufacturing operations.
  • Set and deploy quality control measures for each operation thus ensuring process quality.
  • Analyse data on quality to improve processes.
  • Represent manufacturing in ISO process.
  • Controlling manufacturing cost (P31 & P35)
  • Implementing SOP for all functions in manufacturing (Steel inward, blasting, priming, cutting, fabrication, painting and assembly)
  • Monitoring man hours for manufacturing as against budget given
  • Managing labour issues in factory
  • Ontime material availability from stores to production
  • Review and monitor performance of manufacturing team 
  • Monitor performance of Utility Equipment’s like Paint booth, EOT cranes, Portal crane, Jib cranes, Air compressor, Hydra, Stackers, Air Conditioner, Forklifts, Fire hydrant system, STP, DG sets.
  • Leadership interventions:
  • Play lead role in make and buy decisions in line with organization strategy.
  • Actively participate in worker interactions and welfare programs to maintain healthy work relationship and environment in the factory.
  • Lead from the front for HSE, it should reflect from day-to-day actions.

Qualifications

What should you bring?

Qualifications: BE / B Tech in Mechanical or Production

Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing departments, preferably within the heavy engineering industry.

Technical Knowledge: 

  • Proficiency in welding and fabrication processes.
  • Material properties.
  • Sound knowledge of TIG, MIG and SAW welding.
  • Sound knowledge of ISO 3834 / IEC 60974 standards.
  • WPS / PQR / WPQ processes of specification and documentation.

Skills & competences:

  • Customer-oriented approach to ensure internal customer satisfaction.
  • Service focused.
  • Interpersonal, communication, collaborative and presentation skills.
  • Goal-oriented, dynamic, and high sense of responsibility.
  • Able to work well under pressure, self-reliantly.
