Job Description

JOB POSITION: HR Director, US 

Reports to: VP, People & Culture AME

Location: Springfield, OH 45502

 

JOB POSITION SUMMARY

The Director, People & Culture, U.S. role will lead the operational management of the People & Culture (HR) Operations function, ensuring seamless delivery of People & Culture (HR) services, policies, and programs across the United States. This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, compliance, and employee experience while aligning HR practices with global People & Culture strategies and business objectives.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned People & Culture (HR) leader with a passion for empowerment, a results-oriented mindset, and the ability to balance strategic insight with hands-on execution.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

· HR Strategy & Leadership

-Design and implement U.S. People & Culture (HR) operational strategies that align with global People & Culture initiatives, business objectives and drive value across the organization.

-Act as a strategic advisor and trusted partner to the U.S. country management team, aligning HR initiatives with business objectives to drive organizational success. Provide expert guidance on workforce planning, talent development, employee engagement, employee relations, total rewards and cultural alignment. Ensures that People (HR) strategies enable business growth and operational efficiency while maintaining compliance with local labour laws and regulations.

- Build and lead a high-performing People & Culture (HR) Operations team by fostering a culture of empowerment, continuous learning and accountability.

- Serve as a liaison to respective global People & Culture teams, ensuring the U.S. team contributes to global People & Culture projects and provides ongoing feedback regarding global initiatives, policies & processes.

 

· HR Operations Management

- Continuously optimize People (HR) processes to improve service delivery, employee experience, and organizational productivity.

- Ensure alignment with and execution of global People (HR) policies and processes

- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations while mitigating risk to the organization.

 

 Employee Experience

- Champion a culture of inclusivity and collaboration by designing People (HR) programs that enhance employee engagement and retention.

- Implement initiatives that support employee empowerment and align with company values.

- Serve as a resource for conflict resolution, investigations, and escalated People (HR) issues.

 

 Technology & Analytics

- Leverage People (HR) technology and data analytics to drive informed decision-making and provide actionable insights to leadership.

-  Oversee the application and usage of global and local People (HR) systems/tools, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.

 

 Total Rewards

- Oversee the design, implementation, and ongoing management of the U.S. total rewards strategy, including compensation, benefits and recognition programs.

- Ensure that total rewards programs are competitive, equitable and aligned with organizational goals to attract and retain top talent.

-  Collaborate with finance, external benefits broker and leadership teams to manage budgets and analyze the effectiveness of total rewards initiatives.

 

 Change Management

- Partner with leaders to manage and support organizational change initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and effective communication.

- Act as a key driver in building resilience and adaptability within the workforce.

 

 


Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

· Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with a focus on empowerment and professional development. Inspires and enables others to achieve their potential.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a results-oriented mindset.

· Expertise in employee relations, total rewards (compensation and benefits), talent management and HR compliance.

· Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and influence at all levels of the organization.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

· Strong business orientation - demonstrates a clear understanding of how People & Culture (HR) drives value for the organization.

· Displays sound judgment through thoughtful, balanced decisions in complex situations.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field (master’s degree preferred).

· Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience, including HR operations management in a complex, multi-state environment

· Preferred: SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent HR certification

· Preferred experience within a global company, interfacing with global, regional and local teams

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

· Ability to travel domestically within the U.S. - ~10% Travel required

· Hybrid work environment – 1 day/week remote
