Job Description

At Konecranes and Demag, we are part of a Global organisation that has been in operation for over 80 years. With operations in over 50 countries worldwide, we are currently seeking an experienced Area Supervisor to join our team in Devonport, Tasmania

 

The Area Supervisor will be responsible for supervising field operatives and providing operational support in various operative processes including the customer consultation process, spot audits, quality control and safety. The Area Supervisor will be required to provide technical support and direction as needed to the Operative team as well as other stakeholders in the business and will play a critical role in ensuring larger projects are delivered within established budgets, scope and timeframes. In addition, the Field Supervisor will: 

  • Lead field projects including field modernisations and refurbishments 
  • Prioritises tasks and assign team members (and / or subcontractors) to ensure that the team’s overall resources are used effectively and that project deadlines are met. 
  • Evaluate and authorise changes that significantly impact the scope, budget, or timeline of a project.  
  • Maintain knowledge and awareness of profitability estimates of key projects and manages project risks effectively. 
  • Manage ongoing relationships with external contractors ensuring the organization receives agreed standards of service 
  • Perform regular Audits to monitor the quality of work performed by field operatives 
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture and actively encourage the reporting of observations. Incidents and near misses. 
  • Perform third party inspections as/ when required 
  • Identify parts and know where to source information on parts 
  • Directly supervise technicians (and/or subcontracted labour) time entries and approve time sheets 
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of the Australian Standards and act as a point of contact for others within the business. 
  • Electrical License Essential
