We are looking for a LATAM Business Controller to be a key strategic partner in the financial area, responsible for driving financial performance, strengthening internal controls, and supporting business decision-making throughout the Latin American sub-region. This role involves overseeing the sub-region's financial planning, working capital optimization, compliance, and business support activities to ensure sustainable growth and operational excellence.
Business Support & Strategic Finance
- Act as a finance business partner to sub-region leadership, country managers, and commercial teams.
- Preparation of all financial statements, reports and audits utilized to provide Management with information relative to the financial transactions, operational cost, inventories, sales, orders, depreciation, property, and other asset values, etc.
- Provide financial insights, scenario analysis, and recommendations to support strategic initiatives, pricing decisions, and commercial negotiations.
- Preparation of operating budgets, forecasts and controls and will lead in the sub-region budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.
- Analyze monthly performance, identify risks and opportunities, and drive corrective action plans.
- Support investment cases, capital expenditure proposals, and market development projects.
- Cost Control and Manufacturing finance of the sub-region. Analyze product and job costing, including material, labor, and overhead variances.
- Support make-or-buy decisions, CAPEX investment analysis, and inventory valuation.
- Monitor project KPIs, margin performance, and cost deviations.
Working Capital Management
- Lead sub-region working capital improvement initiatives across receivables and inventory.
- Partner with sales, operations, and supply chain to drive disciplined credit, billing, and collection processes. Support in customer collections efforts.
- Monitor DSO and inventory turns; develop actions to achieve targets.
- Coordinate with Shared Services and local finance to address overdue balances and reduce non-compliance issues.
Internal Control, Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with internal control frameworks, corporate policies, and regional regulatory requirements and corporate policies.
- Lead and monitor internal control assessments and drive remediation plans for identified gaps.
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, revenue recognition, and financial reporting integrity.
- Strengthen governance around commercial approvals, contract reviews, and discounting policies.
Regional Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as a liaison between LATAM business units, and local country finance teams.
- Standardize processes and reporting across the sub-region to improve transparency and operational efficiency.
- Provide coaching and guidance to Latin America Business Controllers
- Communicate key financial messages, risks, and opportunities to leadership in a clear and proactive manner.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or CPA/CMA preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in business controlling, or business partnering roles, ideally within multinational environments.
- Solid understanding of cost accounting, inventory management and financial reporting.
- Strong knowledge of working capital drivers, cash flow management, and internal controls
- Experience supporting commercial operations across multiple countries; LATAM experience strongly preferred.
- Solid analytical skills, financial modeling capabilities, and proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred).
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills; ability to influence non-finance teams.
- Fluency in English, Spanish and Portuguese is a strong asset.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
- Experience in heavy equipment, service, or industrial manufacturing sector.
