Can you share your journey so far?

‘’Always fascinated by math and science, I pursued Computer Science at Babes Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca. Drawn to its creative and critical thinking aspects, I joined Konecranes as a Software Engineer post-graduation.’’

How do you feel about your journey with Konecranes?

‘’Embarking on my career at Konecranes, I've been pleasantly surprised by the nurturing atmosphere and the work-life balance it offers. As my first full-time employer, Konecranes has provided a supportive backdrop, especially with colleagues who are not just supportive but also inspirational in their work ethic. Being a junior did not hinder my voice from being heard; rather, it has been a journey filled with learning and ample opportunities for career progression and personal growth.’’

What challenges have you faced as a female Software Developer?

‘’In my role as a female Software Engineer, the challenges I encounter are often ones I set for myself, influenced by societal norms that stereotype STEM fields as male-dominated. I sometimes find myself doubting my capabilities, especially in comparison to male colleagues. However, I continually overcome these doubts through the work we do, which constantly reaffirms that women are equally adept and belong in STEM fields.’’

What advice will you give to aspiring female Software Developers?

‘’I echo the words of my Informatics professor: be confident in your abilities and comfortable in the learning stage. In the tech world, you might encounter loud voices that seem intimidating, but it's crucial to remember that your results and work ethic will always speak louder than mere words.’’
