Job Description

We are looking for a Trade Compliance Specialist to join our Global Port Parts team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our business activities comply with international trade regulations and customs requirements while supporting the business in the efficient movement of goods across global markets.

In addition to leading trade compliance activities, you’ll serve as the Export Control Coordinator, ensuring compliance with applicable export control regulations and supporting the effective implementation of our export control program.

By collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will help facilitate international business, mitigate compliance risks, and promote a strong culture of compliance throughout the organization.

The position is hybrid and based in Hyvinkää, Finland with a few days per week meeting the team face-to-face in the office. 

 
Your key responsibilities:

In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day trade compliance and export control matters. With the help of Konecranes global trade compliance organization you will provide guidance and support to colleagues. You will represent Global Port Parts in internal compliance-related forums, helping to keep the organization informed of regulatory developments while ensuring that our business needs and perspectives are considered.

You will also develop and deliver compliance training, promote awareness of trade compliance requirements, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the company's global trade compliance program.

You’ll also:

  • Perform sanctions and restricted party screenings
  • Manage customer account creation and maintenance
  • Maintain export tariff classifications and country-of-origin information
  • Coordinate dual-use and export control classifications
  • Ensure compliance with substance regulations such as REACH and RoHS
  • Support dangerous goods compliance activities
  • Coordinate product certificates such as EC declaration of conformity and ISO certificates
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external authorities on compliance-related matter
  • Keep the organization updated on changing customs legislation and prepare instructions

Qualifications

What we expect from you:

To be successful in this role, you should be a self-driven and detail-oriented professional who combines strong analytical skills with a practical business mindset. You are comfortable working with complex regulations and translating them into practical actions and clear business guidance.

With a structured approach, you can manage multiple priorities, maintain high-quality documentation, and ensure that compliance requirements are consistently applied in a dynamic international environment.

You have a collaborative way of working and the ability and willingness to actively cooperate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. In addition, you have a continuous improvement mindset and are always looking for opportunities to enhance processes and strengthen compliance practices.

In addition to this, you should have:

  • Relevant educational background, for example in international trade, logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field
  • Proven work experience in trade compliance, customs, export control, or a related area
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Confidence in using Microsoft tools
  • Experience with SAP and AEB or other trade compliance tool is considered an advantage
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Finnish and German are a benefit
