Job Description

About the Role:

This position oversees the preparation and timely filing and payment of all federal, state, and local taxes, supervises preparation of claims for tax refunds, monitors changes in tax laws as they affect the employer's tax liability, responds to inquiries from government agencies regarding tax filings, compliance, claims and related matters and oversees the maintenance of tax records and files.

Main Responsibilities

  • Coordinate team efforts, create and manage a regional strategy and team operating plan. Responsible for the preparation and filing of the tax returns required under federal, state, local and applicable foreign tax laws and regulations. 
  • Prepare tax returns and related reports to ensure organization compliance with all federal, state and local tax laws and regulations. Minimize tax liability through sound and informed application of tax laws and regulations permitting alternate treatment of taxable items
  • Respond to inquiries from government agencies regarding tax filings, compliance, claims and related matters.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of an assigned tax area which may include, but not limited to tax planning, preparation, analysis and compliance of a division of the company. 
  • Respond to inquiries from government agencies regarding tax filings, compliance, claims and related matters.
  • Serve as primary contact with Internal Revenue Service agents assigned to audit and examine federal income tax returns submitted.
  • Determine the tax consequences of the organization’s past or proposed actions. 
  • Suggest favorable methods of reporting the facts and recommends that projected actions follow patterns designed to minimize tax costs.
  • Direct the preparation and use of all tax records and information as required for proper completion of municipal, state and federal tax returns.
  • Direct and assist staff with the development or revision of policies, procedures, contracts, and agreements to ensure compliance with all tax regulations. Ensure staff is informed of current tax laws, regulations, and rulings pertaining to municipal, state and federal income taxes.
  • May participate in foreign tax provision review.
  • Assist with annual disclosure requirements for the tax return.
  • Monitor changes in tax law as they affect the organization’s tax liability. Ensure staff is informed of current tax laws, regulations, and rulings pertaining to municipal, state and federal income taxes.
  • Train and provide development opportunities for staff. Ensure annual goals are complete and communicated. Ensure Global Performance Management System is up to date and regular feedback is provided to staff members.
  • Monitor and evaluate team members, and adjust training where needed.
  • Attract, retain and develop high potential talent.
  • Model and promote the Corporation’s Code of Business Ethics and Values.
  • Perform general management duties, exercising usual authority concerning staff, performance appraisals, promotions and terminations. Responsible for training and development of subordinate staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.
  • Act as a team role model and change-agent.
  • Positively lead and influence team members to partner together to achieve individual and business goals.
  •  Follow safety and environment policy; be aware to raise safety and hygiene standards on your area.
  • Completion 5S audit at the place as policy
  • Do “Near Miss” audit as requirements
  • Awareness of ISO 14001 & 45001 standards

Qualifications

You Have

  • Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field as Finance, Accounting or related field required.
  • At least 3-5 years experienced accounting and related experience with supervisory or lead experience in manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Have knowledge about ERP (Oracle) is preferable.
  • Thoroughly understands the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of accounting and general ledger.
  • Excellent analytical skills and knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting.
