At Konecranes, we believe that great customer experience is built on the people behind the Konecranes name. Everything we do, we do with passion and drive. We believe diversity drives business success and is the foundation for our growth. We welcome different backgrounds and skills that enrich our community and we promote a place where we can ALL be ourselves. This is what makes Konecranes a unique place to work.
Are you an experienced systems engineering professional who enjoys turning customer needs into clear, reliable and well-functioning product solutions? We are looking for a Systems Engineer, dedicated for machine functions, to join Konecranes Lift Trucks.
In this role, your focus will be on defining and managing system requirements, product lifecycle management, and ensuring that our machine functions meet customer expectations while considering safety, performance, modularity, maintainability, reliability, configuration and cost.
Your key responsibilities
As Systems Engineer, you will take ownership of functional requirement specification. You will collaborate closely with colleagues and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure that product functionality is well defined, aligned and continuously improved.
You will:
- Apply systems engineering methods and document the engineering process in coordination with Senior Systems Engineer.
- Lead system requirements analysis within Machine Functions.
- Work closely with Product Management to define functional requirements and interfaces to meet product requirements, and ensure strong functional alignment across lift truck products.
- Support high-level product test scenario definition together with verification, validation and machine safety specialists.
- Define sub-system integration and verification needs, including sub-system specifications.
- Contribute to Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Coordinate information sharing with supply and service functions.
- Regularly report progress, highlight deviations and propose improvements where needed.
What you should bring
To succeed in this role, you are self-driven, used to taking initiative and comfortable being in the spotlight. You enjoy developing something new, not just following the beaten path.
You should also have:
- At least a few years of experience in R&D and systems engineering, or a related role in an international environment.
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g. mechatronics, control system/mechanical/electrical engineering), or a similar relevant educational background.
- Strong analytical skills and a fact-based approach to problem solving.
- Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
- Ability to work cross-functionally within and outside the Lift Trucks organization.
- Ability to see the broad picture as well as the details.
- Independent, trustworthy and mature way of working, with the confidence to challenge existing methods and propose improvements.
- Curiosity, a can-do attitude and willingness to learn and develop with new technologies.
Why join us?
This is an opportunity to work in a role where your contribution has a direct impact on how our lift truck products function, perform and develop over time. You will be part of meaningful product development work, where systems thinking, customer needs and practical engineering come together.
You will collaborate with colleagues across product management, engineering, safety, testing, supply and service, giving you a broad view of the product lifecycle and the chance to influence improvements across functions. The role offers ownership, variety and the opportunity to develop your expertise in a global technology environment.
Interested?
If this sounds like the next step for you, we would be happy to hear from you. Please submit your application in English by 6 September 2026 at the latest. We will start reviewing applications already during the application period.
