Position Title: Site Superintendent – Nuclear
Reports To: Construction Manager
Principal Responsibilities:
- Responsible for on-time and on-budget execution of assembly, wiring and testing of portal jibs at our Manitowoc site.
- Arrive to project sites before construction crew to verify delivery of material and equipment. Stay onsite after construction crew to demobilize and ship tools and equipment from the site
- Coordinate all onsite activities to ensure the safe and efficient build of the cranes.
- Manage all materials arriving on the site to eliminate lost or stolen tools and materials. Also organize tools, containers rental to ensure proper site safety and efficiency.
- Manage sub-contract workforce staffing levels and collect, review and sign their service reports and other required and appropriate documents in a professional, accurate, neat and legible manner and submit same in a timely manner and in accordance with established guidelines.
- Maintain strong communication with the project team and Construction Manager, in accordance with established practices.
- Prior to the beginning construction, review, print and prepare document packages as necessary
- Have the ability to understand documents, drawings and work plans
- Ability to research and procure materials and tools local to the project.
- Maintain all company issued equipment, vehicle (if applicable) and assets in a safe and proper working order. Operate tools, equipment and vehicles in a safe and responsible manner. Notify supervisor of any deficiencies for resolution.
- Maintain uniforms in a clean and presentable manner.
- Follow all established safety rules and procedures, established by Konecranes Nuclear Equipment and Services and have a strong commitment to safety
- Plan and participate in monthly safety meetings.
- Other duties as assigned by Construction Manager.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. An associate degree in Industrial Electrical/Mechanical Technology or related field or equivalent vocational/technical training and experience is a plus.
Experience: One (1) to three (3) years’ experience in installation of overhead material handling equipment.
Other Requirements: Must have and maintain a good driving record, including a valid driver's license. Must be willing and able to work at elevations. Must be able to work varied overtime, as required by your Manager. Must be team oriented, solutions driven, customer focused and a self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision. Previous project management background is a plus. Able to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics and BOM’s. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude are a plus. Proficiency with MS Office programs, MS Project and SAP are required. Read, understand and apply the contents of all OSHA, ANSI, CMAA and other codes or regulations pertaining to our industry. Refresh and update knowledge periodically.
