Manager, Yard Site Operations
We are now looking for site operations professional, to lead and coordinate the subcontracted yard crane site operations of BU Horizontal & Yard. Site Operation function provides all the necessary installation, erection and supervisory services to BU Horizontal & Yard for its global equipment deliveries.
You will work closely with external partners, such as erection and installation subcontractors, manpower and supervisory suppliers, as well with internal stakeholders such as other supply functions, project management, logistics, HSE and quality functions.
You will report to Director, Site Operations, BU Horizontal & Yard.
Based work location: Uusimaa, Finland or Gdansk area, Poland
Your key responsibilities
- Accountable for Yard Crane site erection and installation operations in Europe and managing customer sites globally.
- Participate on contract negotiations and manage the contract execution with the selected subcontractor partners: prepare and issue purchase orders to the subcontractors, manage and resolve deviations and secure timely and budgetary execution of the orders.
- Leadership for the fixed erection sites in Europe including both operative execution as well as implementing needed developments
- Coordinate Yard crane loadings and unloadings to/from vessels
- Prepare, negotiate and manage commercial contracts for Yard crane customer site works globally. Manage customer sites until hand-over.
- Ensure all site activities comply with safety and regulatory standards.
What we expect from You?
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Good communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills.
- Structured way of managing operations, ability to focus on the most essential, good problem-solving skills and result & development driven mindset.
- Demonstrated project management skills
- A solid background in the operations either at the factory operations or at the site operations for crane installations.
- Understanding of crane installations and erections processes
- Strong mindset for safety
- Fluent English, other language skills are a plus.
- Willingness to travel flexibly and occasionally with short notice internationally. The position requires +40 days / year international business travel.
