Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site electrical, mechanical, structural and electronic troubleshooting to determine cause for equipment malfunction and establish the necessary repairs utilizing visual inspection, test procedures and appropriate test equipment. Perform a general post repair audit prior to completion of work, documenting that all required safety features are functional or documenting deficiencies and attaching a deficiency tag to the crane.
  • Document findings and make corrective recommendations to the customer including a written “Safety Notification” of any observed or known safety concerns, if appropriate. Determine customer’s intentions to purchase repairs and advise local service office of actions necessary to sell or complete the repairs.
  • Consult with customer regarding all repair and safety related issues and discuss recommendations that will assist the customer with improving their material handling applications, prior to leaving job site. Determine items requiring quotation.
  • Complete and provide proper electronic documentation utilizing the established company digital tools required for each service, obtaining the customer’s signature and acceptance.
  • Generate sales leads during service calls and report to service office, following established guidelines.
  • Complete service reports and other required and appropriate documents in a professional, accurate, neat and legible manner and submit same in a timely manner and in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Maintain regular communication with the service office and Planner, in accordance with established practices.
  • • Maintain all company issued equipment, vehicle and assets in a safe and proper working order. Operate tools, equipment and vehicles in a safe and responsible manner. Notify supervisor of any deficiencies for resolution.
  • Maintain supply of forms, literature, inventory and miscellaneous materials in the service vehicle. Document use or sale to customer, as required.
  • Follow all established safety rules and procedures, including those established by the customer.
  •  Maintain company vehicle and uniforms in a clean and presentable manner.
  • Participate in monthly safety meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Awareness of ISO 14001 & 45001 Standards

Job Purpose:

Perform preventive maintenance not requiring compliance inspections, corrective maintenance, retrofits, crane installation or commissioning. Technicians can be further classified into "Maintenance Technician" or "Inspector" (i.e. those predominantly performing preventive maintenance)and "Service Technicians" (i.e. those predominantly performing maintenance and retrofits). In certain countries Technicians are also referred to as "Service Engineers".

Working Relationships:

• Internal: accountant, technicians, warehouse, sales agreement, line Manager.

• External: Customer, Vendor.

• Foster a positive and pleasant working relationship with members of the customer service sales team.

ACCOUNTABILITIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Installs, inspects, repairs, services, and upgrades equipment according to instructions. Perform scheduled maintenance on customer installations to ensure that equipment continues to perform reliably.

2. Maintains accurate service records so that the performance of equipment can be monitored.

3. Acts as the day-to-day Interface with customers, reports faults and findings, makes recommendations to customers

4. Generates sales leads and operative quoting to the company through daily work and interaction with the customer - engages actively with the client.

5. Performs all prescribed safety procedures, point of work risk assessment at every job and site.

6. Perform inspections, maintenance and repairs on electric overhead traveling cranes and hoists at varied customer locations, as directed.

7. Be available “on call” as part of service office rotation and provide after hours service, as required.

1. Resolved tasks

2. Mean time for repairs / mean time between failure

3. Preventive/planned maintenance completion percentage

4. Response speed

5. Safety KPI's in general: e.g. LTA1, following the rules and regulations PPE's in place

6. Reoccurring faults / first time fix rate

7. Productivity (non idle time)

8. Efficiency & downtime

Work related requirements:

Communicate with another technicians and service management: attend meetings with team, communicate with other technicians while in the asset for troubleshooting help.


Qualifications

Vocational/College Degree in Electricity.
