Job Duties:
As directed by Technical Documentation Manager, plan, develop, organize, write, and edit operation and maintenance procedures and manuals.
Collect and correlate vendor literature, assembly drawings, and standard manuals for inclusion with manuals.
Maintain a logical change summary.
Observe and/or participate in engineering testing procedures and manufacturing events.
Interview subject matter experts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Provide work direction and training to less-experienced writers.
Required writing skills:
Content management system
XML authoring
Technical editing
Adobe Illustrator/vector-based graphics
Adobe Acrobat Pro
Adobe Framemaker
Desired technical skills:
Solidworks
Reading engineering drawings, BOMs
Electrical engineering concepts (schematics, PLC technology, etc.)
Mechanical engineering concepts (hydraulics, internal combustion engines, gearcases, brakes, etc.)
OSHA, other industry regulations
Minimum years experience: 7
Minimum experience: Associate's degree with relevant experience
