As a Parts Solutions Product Manager at Konecranes, you will be responsible for the annual growth and strategic objectives of the United States parts business. The scope includes parts categories, parts capabilities, and retrofit packages. Part Solutions Product Management includes market research, defining product strategy, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and overseeing product development and launch. You will be the advocate for the customer, understanding their needs and working to deliver products that exceed their expectations. The ideal candidate is an analytical thinker with a strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of successfully managing products from concept to market.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Product Strategy and Planning:
- Conduct market research to identify opportunities and trends.
- Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize features and enhancements
Product Development:
- Work closely with engineering, design, and other teams to develop and launch high-quality products.
- Create and maintain product specifications, user stories, and other relevant documentation, like playbooks.
- Ensure that products are developed on time and within budget.
Customer Focus:
- Develop a deep understanding of customer needs through feedback, surveys, and data analysis. Extensive customer engagement in a virtual and on-site setting.
- Champion the customer's perspective in product decisions.
- Monitor product performance and user satisfaction, making data-driven recommendations for improvements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and customer support, global teams, and executive management to ensure successful product launches, product growth, and ongoing support.
- Facilitate communication between different teams to ensure alignment on product sales goals and timelines.
Product Marketing:
- Work with the marketing team to develop and execute go-to-market strategies.
- Create product messaging and collateral to effectively communicate product features, advantages, and benefits.
Sales Goals
- Ultimately responsible for sales teams meeting the expected product sales goals numbers. This will be done through personal sales efforts alongside the sales teams as well as developing each sales channel’s capabilities to grow these product areas.
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Strong ability in virtual communication
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
- Experience in industry or similar ones is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to lead without authority.
- Experience utilizing digital tools and software to manage or support teams.
- Effective communication and people skills, with the ability to professionally interact with a diverse blend of personalities to reach a resolution and build and maintain strong relationships.
- Experience with overhead material handling or industrial processes desired but not required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Product Manager or in a similar role.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be willing to travel as required, including overnight trips. Travel is estimated to be at 50%.
