Job Description

Konecranes Global Parts and Retrofits Product Management function supports spare parts business units around the world. We support spare part product management, set structures, item maintenance, pricing, related spare part documents, availability, and processes for new and old crane products. We also give technical support on spare part offers and orders.

We are now looking for a Spare Parts Mechanical Engineer to join our Parts Product Management team. You will design, coordinate and support our business units globally in the area of spare part mechanical engineering. You are responsible for spare part drawing updates and redesigning items and give technical support for colleagues.

You will be located in our headquarters at Hyvinkää, Finland.

Your key responsibilities:

• Spare parts mechanical engineering & drawing updates (incl. order-related).

• Product ownership of selected spare part offering.

• Technical support for product management, sourcing and quality teams.

• Validation of supplier product quality requirements.

• Equivalent & reverse engineering for part needs.

• Support manufacturing processes and techniques validation for spare parts.

• Business cases for engineering projects.

• Development of new manufacturing methods (e.g. 3D printing, CAM) with R&D and manufacturing.


Qualifications

In addition to above, role can evolve according to your personal expertise and growth interest when going forward.

Your key skills and experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, preferably in mechanical area.

• Several years’ applicable proven experience in mechanical engineering.

• Deep understanding of manufacturing techniques such as machining, welding and casting.

• Hands-on experience in manufacturing techniques and/or crane mechanics expertise.

• CAD software (e.g. Siemens NX, Vertex CAD, or equivalent), 3D design software is a benefit.

You must be able to work in multi-cultural organization in rapidly changing environment. With a logical way of thinking and good self-direction skills are needed. Working in close co-operation with stakeholders requires facilitation, good collaboration and communication skills. You are a highly motivated team player with can-do attitude. Fluent Finnish and English skills in writing and speaking are mandatory. In addition, German skills would be a benefit.

The Parts Mechanical Engineer reports to Director, Parts & Retrofits Product Management.
