Konecranes Port Solutions provides equipment, software and service for the container handling industry. Our mission is to provide the world's best container handling solutions and we're leading the way with technology, process understanding and service commitment. Within our Port Solutions team we have four Business Units—BU Quay & Horizontal, BU Yard, BU Port Services, and BU Lift Trucks.
Business Unit Quay & Horizontal is consisting of Business Lines Automated Horizontal Transportation (AHT), Equipment Control Systems & Services (ECSS), Mobile Harbor Cranes (MHC), Rail Mounted Gantry Cranes (RMG), Ship-to-Shore Cranes (STS), Shipyard Cranes (SHIP) and Straddle Carriers (SC).
Join us as Operations Manager, Vietnam where you will be responsible for coordinating, developing and leading local operation team with focus on BU Quay & Horizontal products across the country.
You will work closely with external partners, such as manufacturing and installation subcontractors, as well with internal stakeholders such as other supply functions, project management, logistics, HSE and quality functions.
You will report to Director, Subcontracting South Asia.
Awareness of ISO 14001 and 45001 standards
- Managing and coordinating manufacturing and installation operations in Vietnam.
- Preparing and negotiating subcontracting PO:s and contracts
- Planning new concepts – steel structure manufacturing and crane module installations.
- Managing and planning local on-site supervisory resources
- Developing productivity and KPI:s in close cooperation with other supply operations functions
- Ensuring safe site operations and solving potential safety risks with HSE specialists
What we expect from You?
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or mechanical engineering.
- Previous working experience in manufacturing industry is a must, preferably in heavy steel structure manufacturing
- Understanding of crane steel structure manufacturing processes
- Experience of implementing manufacturing process and/or quality improvement programs
- Structured way of handling operations and ability to pick most essential issues and good problem-solving skills.
- Strong mindset for safety
- Good communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills.
- Demonstrated project management skills and target orientation to get results.
- Fluent English, other language skills are a plus.
