Konecranes Industrial Equipment provides an extensive range of industrial cranes, from components and light duty applications to demanding process use and solutions - serving general manufacturing and various process industries. We are the world’s largest supplier of industrial cranes and wire rope hoists and a technology leader with digital controls, software and automation.
Task description
Product Line, Rope Hoist Cranes & Components and EX-Proof Platform are part of the Product Management, Development & Support organisation. Typical products include standard and lightly customised industrial cranes with rope hoists up to 80 tons lifting capacity.
RH Platform team is the technology owner for Rope Hoist Cranes product line. It is responsible for mechanical engineering and lifecycle management of rope hoists, belt hoists, crane end carriages and mechanical crane kit components. Platform is continuously improving the safety, quality, competitiveness and user value of products. It also ensures that products conform to relevant standards and regulations in all markets.
Platform team works in close co-operation with global supply organization and is located at the product line's primary manufacturing site in Hämeenlinna, Finland.
The team consists of chief engineers and lead engineers, each responsible for a product or a platform function.
Platform manager is primarily responsible for task and resource management, continuous improvement, and adoption of best practices.
Currently ongoing work in the platform team includes:
- Transitioning to a new rope hoist series “R-hoist” and optimizing it to meet business requirements.
- Modernization of standard belt hoist series.
- Applying uniform product data management methods to products with diverse development backgrounds.
- Continuous and systematic quality improvement.
- A degree in engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience in industrial R&D, engineering or product management.
- You will join a culturally diverse company and will manage a team of 7 experts, some of whom are working abroad. Management must maintain a fair and equal working environment for all team members.
- You will be required to learn and use elements of lean methodology (Six Sigma, DfSS). Previous experience is a benefit.
- Your team members are crane technology experts. You don’t need to start as one. Instead, you are expected to lead and support the team and learn in the process.
