Konecranes Industrial Equipment provides an extensive range of industrial cranes, from components and light duty applications to demanding process use and solutions - serving general manufacturing and various process industries. We are the world’s largest supplier of industrial cranes and wire rope hoists and a technology leader with digital controls, software and automation.
Order and offer engineering function works as part of the component order-delivery process, creating manufacturing drawings of special hoists and components. This team supports the sales and delivery of customized hoists and crane components. It executes a large number of relatively small engineering tasks. 2000 tasks/year and 5 hours/task are typical, as is <7 days throughput time. The workload is managed by two lead engineers based at the Hämeenlinna factory and up to 10 mechanical engineers in India and China. A rigorous task management process and quality assurance in each step are critical to success.
We are looking to hire an additional team member, Lead Engineer to join the Rope Hoist order and offer engineering team.
• Checking and correcting the technical specification in new special hoist and component orders
• Creating and scheduling engineering tasks to engineering teams in other departments and countries
• Verifying that the engineering solutions meet the customer requirements stated in the orders
• Coordinating corrective actions when production encounters design-related problems
• Take of ownership and continuously drive improvement
• A degree in mechanical engineering.
• Independent user experience of CAD tools. Ideally you possess a minimum 2 years of hands-on engineering work experience with CAD tools, preferably in the field of machine design.
• Understanding of basic manufacturing methods of machine parts and steel structures
• At least basic understanding of the use of PLM systems. Konecranes uses Teamcenter PLM with NX and Vertex CAD
• A problem solver mentality
Clear communication style and able to articulate your thoughts in a structured manner
• Fluent in English language
This role is based in Hämeenlinna, and would require regular presence in the office, and factory.
