Are you ready to lead a skilled engineering team working at the heart of heavy lifting technology? We are looking for an Engineering Manager, Chassis & Structure to lead a high-performing team focused on mechanical design, strength calculation and structural integrity for Lift Trucks.
In this role, you will combine technical leadership with people management, resource planning and cross-functional collaboration. Your team will work with both customer-specific Engineering-to-Order solutions and strategic R&D projects for next-generation chassis/structure and lifting equipment.
Your key responsibilities
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of structural and chassis design engineers.
- Manage resources, balancing short-term Engineering-to-Order work and longer-term R&D projects.
- Manage budget, cost estimates, and financial follow-ups for your team.
- Ensure engineering deliveries meet agreed technical scope, quality requirements and timelines.
- Develop and quality-assure engineering methods and tools in line with safety and regulatory requirements.
- Mitigate technical risks and ensure functional machine safety and system compliance within your area.
- Work closely with Supply, Service, Product Support and other stakeholders to ensure efficient engineering support.
- Drive knowledge sharing, continuous improvement and competence development in line with future product and technology roadmaps.
- Work environment responsibility.
What should you bring?
As a person, you take an analytical and fact-based approach, communicate clearly, and can combine a broad strategic view with attention to detail. You enjoy working in a cooperative, cross-functional environment and have a curious, can-do mindset.
To succeed in this position, you also have:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in people management, such as an Engineering Manager, Team Leader, or Technical Project Manager.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design, specifically for heavy equipment, material handling, lifting applications, or automotive industries. Mobile equipment experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with modern CAD software, PLM systems, and risk-mitigation tools like FMEA.
- Familiarity with Engineering tools like Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software.
- Practical knowledge working with international safety standards and regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., CE, ISO, OSHA, EN standards) is appreciated.
- Fluency in spoken and written English; fluent Swedish is a strong advantage.
Why join us?
You will be part of a global company with strong engineering expertise, where collaboration, continuous learning and practical innovation are part of everyday work.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to influence solutions that are central to the performance, safety and reliability of Lift Trucks. You will lead an experienced engineering team, work with both current customer needs and future product development, and contribute to technologies that help move what matters in a safer, more productive and sustainable way.
