Job Description

We are looking for two enthusiastic Distribution Centre Interns to join our team in Linbro Park, Johannesburg. This is a full time internship designed for individuals eager to gain hands on experience in warehouse operations, logistics, and inventory control within a dynamic industrial service environment.

As a Distribution Centre Intern, you will support our delivery operations team with day-to-day warehouse activities, including inventory management, goods receiving, order preparation, and quality checks. This internship offers great exposure to supply chain processes and the opportunity to learn from experienced warehouse professionals.

Key Responsibilities

As part of your internship, you will assist with:

  • Providing counter support to internal technicians and external customers
  • Handling parts returns and warranty processing
  • Assisting with invoicing and processing requisitions or work orders
  • Preparing customer and internal orders: pulling stock, packing items, and staging orders for delivery
  • Loading and unloading materials from delivery vehicles
  • Checking incoming shipments against purchase orders and delivery documents
  • Inspecting incoming and outgoing items for damage, defects, or missing parts and reporting issues
  • Supporting inventory control activities, including cycle counts and stock location updates
  • Maintaining pricing records and helping coordinate vendor deliveries and collections
  • Following specialised procedures such as rope-cutting dispatch
  • Keeping the warehouse clean, safe, and compliant with operational standards
  • Reporting any issues in the shipping or receiving process to the Warehouse Supervisor
  • Supporting quality system procedures, internal audits, corrective actions, and customer feedback processes
  • Ensuring all tasks are completed in line with company policies and delegated authority guidelines

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Operations Management. 
  • Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office, especially Excel)
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures
  • Physically able to assist with manual handling tasks (lifting, loading, carrying)
  • Must have own reliable transport
