The Calculation Tools team belongs to Industrial Equipment BU Solutions, the team develops and maintains a wide range of state-of-the-art programs. These programs are used in daily bases by all of our business segments (BA Industrial Service, BA Industrial Equipment, and BA Port Solutions) to design new products and to analyse existing cranes and runways. Our mission is to offer the best tools of the entire crane business to our engineers and thus give a competitive edge for Konecranes.

We are now seeking a Development Engineer to join our team. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our tools remain at the forefront of the crane industry, support our engineers and collaborate with stakeholders, provide user support, and ensure our tools stay innovative and meet business needs. This is an opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and work on impactful projects.

Your key responsibilities:

• Develop new functionalities to the existing tools independently and together with the team.
• Maintain a close co-operation with the business and other stakeholders.
• Provide user support and trainings.
• Keep up with the latest trends in programming.

What should you bring?

To excel in this role, you need a strong technical foundation, a customer-focused mindset, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You thrive in team settings and can efficiently coordinate activities in diverse environments. You are expected to have:

• Programming skills using:
  • VB6
  • C# and VB.Net
  • C++
• Mastery of the MS Excel, including VBA.
• A technical background, for example Bachelors’ degree or higher in structural or civil engineering. 
• Fluent spoken and written English.

Knowledge of Konecranes’ products, prior experience with the KC Tools and Markman or other order design would be beneficial.
