Job Description

Position Overview

This position requires excellent understanding of wire rope hoists and its components. The hired Engineer will be responsible for the mechanical and structural design/engineering aspects of customized design solutions involving wire rope hoists; check technical specifications from order documents and make detailed order engineering drawings. Must be familiar with industry specifications including crane standards FEM & EN. Experience with welding and machining is required. Must be proficient with  CAD tools and Microsoft Office. Excellent Verbal and written communication plays a key role in this position. This position requires the direct interface between offer engineers, project management and production facility.

Major Responsibilities

  • Interpret order documentation including order confirmation to determine scope of work
  • Make production drawings for standard duty crane components as per the order received and within the specified time duration.
  • Must be proficient in reading mechanical equipment and structural drawings.
  • Perform engineering tasks using established procedures. Create equipment layouts, undertake all necessary mechanical and structural calculations to confirm designs and generate final mechanical and structural designs.
  • Assure quality assurance in drawing & design process by monitoring the Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and implementing the corrective actions.
  • Awareness of ISO 14001 and 45001 standards

Qualifications

Professional Experience & Education

  • Experience;2–5 years of core design experience in the Lifting Equipment, Material Handling, or Heavy Engineering industry.
  • Primary Education: Bachelor’s Degree (B.E. / B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering/ Production Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Preferred Background: Candidates who have previously worked with manufacturers of EOT cranes, wire rope hoists, or specialized winches will be given preference.

Critical Competencies

  • Excellent understanding of machine design and structural engineering practice as applied to wire rope hoists and special construction.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, commercial and customer oriented mindset
  • Competencies in NX, TC, Vertex (2D CAD tool) & SAP will be an added advantage
  • Can do attitude
  • Ability to create and implement new ways of working, create trust and work in effective cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication skills
