Job Description

About the Role:

Konecranes ISE is looking for a Design Engineer – RailQ3D Consultation to support the growth and success of our Consultation Service Product RailQ3D and Scan to BIM technology-based solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for fresh graduates or early-career professionals (0-2 years of experience) who have a strong interest in LiDAR technology, structural analysis, and 3D scanning applications.

In this role, you will work closely with the RailQ3D consultation team to execute Runway Surveys based on global design codes. You will be responsible for analyzing scan data, supporting structural design calculations, and generating technical reports while ensuring quality and efficiency. Additionally, you will contribute to process improvements and innovative solutions for our LiDAR-based technology offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Runway survey analysis and report preparation.
  • Technical documentation and report writing.
  • Work on structural design and verification of steel elements (Beams, Columns, welded/bolted connections, steel-to-steel & steel-to-concrete connections).
  • Develop an understanding of Industrial Cranes, Crane components, and steel supporting structures.
  • Handle LiDAR data processing, point cloud analysis, and BIM modeling for structural projects.
  • Ensure quality checkpoints in workflow and support process improvements.
  • Collaborate with team members on LiDAR-based structural product development.
  • Support field teams with technical queries and feedback.
  • Contribute to learning initiatives and product advancements. 
  • Awareness of ISO 14001 & 45001 Standards

What You Should Bring:

  • 0-2 years of experience in LiDAR technology, 3D scanning, and structural analysis.
  • Knowledge of structural analysis, steel connection design, and load-bearing structures.
  • Familiarity with surveying principles, coordinate geometry, and 3D algebra for spatial data interpretation.
  • Understanding of LiDAR data processing, point cloud handling, and BIM modeling for structural applications are added advantages
  • Exposure to 3D scanning technologies and their application in engineering solutions are added advantages.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with an eagerness to learn and innovate.
  • Good communication and presentation skills in English.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (Master’s is a plus).
