Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Design Engineer to join our Port Cranes team. This role involves working on innovative and challenging projects in the crane industry, contributing to the design and development of port cranes and shipbuilding cranes

Skill Sets Needed:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, NX, and Teamcenter
  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and mechanical design principles.
  • Knowledge of welding, machining, and fabrication processes.
  • Familiarity with GD&T, tolerancing, and manufacturing drawing practices.
  • Ability to interpret and visualize 2D views & drawings
  • Excellent English communication skills
  • Team-oriented mindset and collaborative approach
  • Familiarity with FEM/FEMAP, Ansys, or equivalent tools is a plus

Your key responsibilities

  • Analyse and understand project specifications and technical requirements
  • Create 2D fabrication drawings for steel structures, mechanical components, and assemblies using AutoCAD.
  • Create and maintain Teamcenter structures for projects and variants.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable standards (DIN, ISO, FEM, OSHA, EN, etc.) and company design guidelines.
  • Perform design modifications, updates, and BOM management as per project requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members and hand over finalized designs to lead engineers
  • Work closely with global design teams (Finland, Germany, etc.) to deliver on project milestones.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication within the team
  • Comply with company policies and engineering best practices
  • Awareness of ISO 14001 & 45001 standard

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Production Engineering from a reputable university
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of design experience in the field of:
    • Crane OR Heavy engineering Industry
    • Material Handling Equipment
    • Special Purpose Machines
