Job Description

Donati, part of the Konecranes Group, is on the lookout for a Configurator Specialist. In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing, updating, and maintaining the technical-commercial configurator (e.g., CPQ or custom systems), working closely with the design, production, and sales departments. You’ll also ensure the correct implementation of technical logics and configuration rules to support the automatic generation of bills of materials (BOM), drawings, and technical documentation in line with company standards.

This role is based in our office in Legnano, Metropolitan City of Milan, Italy. Following a successful onboarding and learning period, we offer the flexibility to work in a hybrid remote arrangement.

Your key responsibilities

  • Analyze modular products and solutions to define configuration rules.
  • Implement and update logical rules in the configurator (e.g., constraints, variables, options).
  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, and the sales team to gather requirements and optimize configuration models.
  • Validate and test configurations to ensure the accuracy of generated data (BOMs, technical documents, layouts, etc.).
  • Maintain up-to-date technical documentation related to configuration rules.
  • Participate in the integration of the configurator with ERP (SAP), PLM, CAD, and other company systems.
  • Provide technical support to internal users of the configurator (technical department, sales, etc.).
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of configuration tools.

Qualifications

What should you bring?

  • Technical Secondary School Diploma (diploma tecnico) or Bachelor’s degree, preferably in IT, mechanical engineering, or engineering management.
  • At least some work experience in a technical department or similar role (configuration, automated drawings, etc.).
  • Knowledge of technical configurators or internally developed systems.
  • Basic knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD (preferably AutoCAD and Inventor).
  • Good knowledge of Excel and conditional logic.
  • Good spoken and written English, fluent Italian is a strong advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, autonomy, and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.

You’ll have an advantage if you also have:

  • Experience in programming or scripting (e.g., Visual Basic, JavaScript, SQL).
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP) or PLM (Teamcenter).
  • Knowledge on BOM creation and maintenance.
  • Previous experience using Variant BOMs in SAP and component selection based on them.

Experience in the automatic generation of drawings/technical data from configurators.
