We at BU Horizontal & Yard Technology department are responsible for developing new functional features for container handling applications. The solutions range from operator assisting features to fully autonomous equipment and make cranes safer, smarter and more efficient. Modern technology, newest sensors, positioning systems, lidars, camera technology, remote operation, etc. combined with innovative applications result in first class solutions for our customers.
So now we are looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join our team to take care of this vital piece of our state-of-the-art applications. In this role you will participate in all stages of Horizontal & Yard design and implementation. You will work in an enthusiastic team in a global company.
Your key responsibilities
- Commission automated cranes and related systems, including interfaces to customer systems and remote operator desks
- Report commissioning progress clearly and proactively to relevant stakeholders
- Work closely with customers during commissioning, maintaining clear and professional communication
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Test systems together with the customer, including longer testing phases that may take 2–3 weeks
What you should bring?
You have experience and knowledge in reading PLC-code and are familiar with parametrization of Ethernet based new technology devices and sensors. Your passion is to commission projects on time. You are not afraid of developing something totally new in the industry.
To succeed in this position, you should have:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree level on Automation or Electrics
- Basic understanding of PLC-programming (S7 and Tiaportal)
- Basic understanding of ethernet based device communication
- Basic understanding of electrical drawings
- Willingness to learn new things and cultures
- Willingness to travel 200+ days per year, often 6-8 weeks at a time
- Systematic problem-solving skills
- Good attitude to learn new and develop old
- Fluent spoken and written English skills
