Job Description

Join Konecranes Port Services as a Buyer and play a key role in ensuring the availability of spare parts that keep our customers’ port cranes running reliably.

In this role, you will combine hands-on purchasing with tactical sourcing, supporting customer satisfaction, equipment uptime and business performance. You will be responsible for day-to-day purchasing of spare parts for port equipment, covering both stock replenishment and customer order needs.

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Hyvinkää, Finland, within our Port Services Procurement team. The role includes close collaboration with internal teams, both internal and external suppliers and occasional travel to Germany (approximately four times per year).

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage operational purchasing and tactical sourcing activities, including assessing and processing needs and requirements, creating and managing purchase orders, and tracking deadlines and deliveries.
  • Ensure timely availability of spare parts for both customer orders and stocked items, balancing timelines, cost, and availability.
  • Track and expedite deliveries, follow up on order confirmations, and manage day-to-day supplier performance.
  • Resolve issues related to shortages, quality, order quantities and price discrepancies, and escalate and collaborate with sourcing and other stakeholders when needed.
  • Work closely with material planners, sourcing, customer service, logistics and other internal stakeholders in a cross-functional environment.
  • Maintain and improve master data quality in SAP to enable smooth and accurate transaction processing.
  • Monitor operational performance indicators, such as delivery reliability, availability and backlog for your responsibility area and plan improvement actions based on insights.
  • Collaborate with back-office and sourcing teams to improve supplier performance and contribute to continuous improvement of purchasing processes.

Qualifications

What should you bring?

  • Bachelor's or master's degree, preferably in Business Administration, Economics, Logistics or related field.
  • Relevant experience in supply chain, purchasing, and logistics, preferably in a manufacturing, industrial environment or service business.
  • Experience with SAP, proficiency in MS Office tools, and experience using Power BI reports.
  • Ability to prioritize purchasing tasks and manage multiple requests in a fast-changing environment.
  • Understanding of Master Data and continuously improve the data quality.
  • Professional working proficiency in English and basic language skills in German.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with a service-oriented mindset, both toward internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Ability to work flexibly in a global business environment with different time zones and cultures.
