Can you share your journey so far?

‘’As a proud Guringai woman, storytelling is important to me. I faced challenges due to dyslexia, but with supportive teachers, I excelled in school. However, in seventh grade, my support was taken away, and in year 11, I was told I had failed everything. I didn't let that stop me.’’

How did you overcome these obstacles?

‘’I pursued events management at TAFE, taught myself to read and write, and fell in love with learning. I completed a diploma, became an electrician, and achieved a remarkable 95% on my first exam.’’

Tell us about your career journey as an electrician?

‘’I've worked on diverse projects, including high-rise constructions, home automation, and lift installations. I currently work as an electrician for Konecranes alongside with my fiancé, who is also an electrician. My stepchildren aspire to become electricians as well.’’

What accomplishments have you achieved?

‘’I've received 11 awards, such as Training Awards, Group Training Awards, and TAFE Excellence Awards. These recognitions have led me to become an ambassador, engage in training events, and provide advice on social media.’’

What are your goals?

‘’In the short term, I aim to expand my trade knowledge and inspire the next generation. In the long term, I see myself in an ambassador or support role, connecting disadvantaged individuals with trades, and continuing my advocacy work.’’
