Meet Erwan Le Covec
Five years of innovative solutions
Erwan’s career at Konecranes began close to five years ago, marking the start of a journey full of growth and accomplishments. Starting his professional journey as a Data Scientist, he quickly showed his abilities to work on projects independently, which helped him shift into a new position. Today, as a Lead Data Scientist based in Lyon, Erwan is one of the key contributors in Konecranes’ AI journey.
“I’m glad when people reach out to me and ask me for help with something. That’s when I feel like I’m most valuable to my colleagues,” Erwan describes.
The role transition Erwan achieved wasn’t just a change in title; instead, it involved Erwan managing a team with a focus on technical guidance and communication in all things related to the intriguing world of data science.
Diverse projects and creative freedom

“I’ve been a part of a predictive maintenance project for a few years now, and I’m still able to contribute to it today. It’s always nice to see the results of my work.”

Erwan’s personal life mirrors his professional creativity. Calling himself a cocktail enthusiast, Erwan has combined his passion with his skillset, creating a form of AI that suggests cocktail recipes based on one’s available ingredients. Interestingly, Erwan views his hobby and work tasks as similar in many ways.
“In both, you have a list of different tools or ingredients, and you need to know how to combine them efficiently to get good results.”
This fun blend of work and play is a wonderful example of the innovative culture we here at Konecranes have been able to hone.
Developing skills in a warm environment
Joining Konecranes has opened ways for Erwan to develop his communication and managerial skills. These strong competencies have been especially important in his team-leading role today.
